Pandemic
20th July - 31st July 2009
Swine Flu, Bird Flu, SARS. Global pandemic. Mass panic. Death. The race is on to find a cure, but with stocks of medicine running low who do we save? Time to act fast, the future of the human race depends on you...

This science/theatre summer school is designed to challenge 12-15 year-olds who have an interest in performance or science. The two week project will include  sessions with scientists, a research trip to the Wellcome Collection and a series of lively workshops all exploring the theme of pandemic disease. At the end of the two weeks participants will perform a brand new piece of theatre based on their work.

The Arena of Debate
The Arena of Debate took place on Thursday 2nd April 2009. The Royal Albert Hall was transformed into a huge debating chamber. Nearly one thousand students discussed issues raised in Y Touring’s performance of 'Nobody Lives Forever' , during the debate the students had an opportunity to ask questions of some of the world’s leading experts in the field of stem cell research. Students then decided through an electronic voting system on whether they agreed with the motion of the debate. As part of the debate six short films produced by schools were shown on giant 20 ft square screens that will filled the Royal Albert Hall.
