Preparing Your Students
Evaluations of previous Creating the Debate projects
have highlighted the importance of preparing the students,
to ensure they gain maximum benefit.
The aim of the Preparatory Lessons File is to give
you background information and activities to ensure
that your students can make the most of the learning
opportunities offered in the play and debate.

to the issues raised in the play

Follow Up Lesson
The follow up lesson is designed for all students
who have seen the Silencer.
Aim
To allow students to respond to proposed policies on
tackling
climate change, giving them the chance to feed into
the
political process and become active citizens. The responses
gained from this exercise will be included in a report
made
available to politicians and senior civil servants
who turn
policy into law.
Objectives
- To gain further insight into the science and politics
of
climate change
- To engage in a group discussion that will involve
making
democratic decisions
- To understand some positive changes that can be
made
to combat climate change
