About Kathy Archibald
I am the director of Europeans for Medical Progress;
a non-profit research and educational institute dedicated
to improving human health by modernising medical research. I
have a degree in genetics and have worked in drug
development for pharmaceutical and biotech companies,
on engineered protein drugs for heart attack patients, viral
DNA detection systems, and glucose monitors for
people with diabetes.
As well as human health, I am passionate about wildlife
and conservation and spent several years as a
field teacher for the RSPB, for whom my husband is
an area manager. Social justice is another burning
concern and I have been involved in education with
a number of developmental, environmental and children's
charities.
