Breathing Country

Mon 7th Sept - Fri 9th Oct
London only tour

Supported by the Wellcome Trust and Central
YMCA. Developed in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Y Touring's newest project will encourage informed debate on issues surrounding the use of electronic patient records for research. The project will highlight how advances in the field can benefit patients and explore relevant ethical, technological, regulatory and social issues arising.
The subject lends itself to school years 10-13, a period during which students make decisions about their future studies and careers. In the new science G.C.S.E. it is specified that students aged 14-16 must “consider how and why decisions about science and technology are made, including those that raise ethical issues, and about the social, economic and environmental effects of such decisions” (How Science Works, 4b). As well as science, the issues can be directly linked to PSHE, RS, English and Drama GCSE specifications and A level Sciences and Humanities
